From Southern Italy to Southern Maine

IMG_3981.jpg

Ciao, my name is Laura Iaffaldano (I-fell down-oh no)! In case you couldn’t tell by my name, my family is from Italy, specifically from a southern coastal region called Puglia. We’re known for our rocky beaches, seafood and centuries-old (olive) trees  - not too different from Maine.

I come from a long line of nonnas. These jovial grandmas are known for showing their love through food and preserving traditions around the table. As the first  of my family born here in America, I felt I was slowly losing their soulful way of life.

Young Nonna is the pursuit of reviving & reimagining a way of living that started on a farm in Italy... where recipes are steeped in tradition, food is fresh and hospitality is always the most important ingredient.

What We're Serving Up

Fresh Pasta

Made weekly from just semolina flour + water. Served with homemade tomato sauce.

Panzerotti

Think mini fried  calzones. Filled with seasonal mixtures like sausage and broccoli rabe or ricotta and squash.

Focaccia

We make it thick, crunchy and topped with cherry tomatoes and rosemary.

Polpette

“Poor man’s meatballs” made from eggplant and mint or bread and cheese.

We'd love to hear from you!

Are you hungry? Think we could be a good fit for your event?
